Q. Who should attend the Advanced Vaccinology Course in India (INDVAC)?
A. Specialists in infectious diseases, microbiologists, virologists, paediatricians, physicians, research nurses, team members of vaccine trials, policy makers, members of contract (or clinical) research organizations (CRO) and vaccine industry professionals would be best suited to attend INDVAC.
Q. When is INDVAC conducted?
A. INDVAC is usually conducted in the cooler months of September-October in Vellore. This year, the course will be conducted from October 10-19, 2022.
Q. Is it an online or offline course?
A. The 2022 course will be conducted in person with all the participants and most of the faculty travelling to Vellore.
Q. Where will the course be conducted?
A. The course will be conducted in the wooded and scenic college campus of Christian Medical College, Vellore at Bagayam, Vellore.
Q. How can I apply for the course?
A. Register on the INDVAC Website (http://www.indvac.org/ ) to access the application form for INDVAC 2022 which will open from April 1st 2022 to June 15th 2022. You can apply using the apply tab in this website.
Q. How will participants be selected for the course?
A. Participants will be selected by the INDVAC Scientific Committee, based on their qualification and involvement in the field of vaccinology.
Q. When will I know if I am selected for the course?
A. Each of the applicants will be informed of their selection status by July 15th, 2022.
Q. Are scholarships available to attend the course?
A. There is provision for scholarship for deserving candidates. Scholarships will be awarded based on an assessment by the organizing committee.
Q. Can I attend part of the course and obtain a certificate?
A. The course is structured in such a way that all aspects of vaccinology are covered in a systematic manner with assignments and discussions that run through the course. Hence, the course has to be fully attended to be eligible to obtain a certificate.
Q. Will a course certificate be provided?
A. A certificate will be provided at the end of the course for all participants who attend the full course.
Q. Are there any accreditation or CME credits for attending the course?
A. The course is accredited by the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University for 30 CME credits.
Q. Will I require a visa to enter India (for participants from outside India)?
A. All nationals entering India are required to possess a valid international travel document with a valid visa.
Q. What are the COVID restrictions for travel to India (for participants from outside India)?
A. Check travel advisory closer to travel date and with the airline company.
